We exist to make starting up the default, not the exception.
The Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Incubation Cell (EIIC) at JIT is a student-run, faculty-backed forum that builds the bridge between the classroom and the real economy.
We give students the tools, network and room to experiment — from a first brainstorm to a registered company with paying customers.
Mission
Nurture a culture of innovation at JIT by giving every student access to mentorship, funding pathways and a community of builders.
Vision
A campus where at least one venture-ready startup is born every semester, solving real problems for India and beyond.
From first idea to first customer.
Ideation & Validation
Design-thinking sprints, problem-discovery workshops and customer interviews to make sure you're building something people want.
Prototype Lab
Access to makerspace hardware, cloud credits and no-code stacks. Go from napkin sketch to working MVP in weeks, not semesters.
Mentor Network
1:1 office hours with alumni founders, VCs, CAs and IP lawyers who have done it before — and are happy to tell you what not to do.
Funding Pathways
Seed grants, pitch competitions and warm intros to state startup missions, angel networks and government schemes like Startup India.
Incubation Support
Desk space, legal & company registration help, and a structured 6-month programme for our most promising teams.
Community
A campus-wide tribe of builders. Founder dinners, demo days and a Slack where someone is always awake at 3 a.m.
A changelog of ambition.
EIIC is founded
A group of 12 students and two faculty members start meeting on Friday evenings to talk startups.
First Ideathon
300+ participants, 64 ideas and the first three teams enter pre-incubation.
Incubation desk opens
Dedicated space in the Innovation Block and partnerships with the state startup mission.
E-Summit launches
A two-day summit with 20 speakers, a startup expo and a ₹2L pitch competition.
18 startups and counting
Alumni ventures raise their first external rounds; EIIC wins 'Best Campus E-Cell' at a regional meet.
“Entrepreneurship is not a subject you study — it's a muscle you build. EIIC is the gym. I'm proud of how our students show up, fail fast and keep shipping.”Dr. Ananya Rao · Faculty Coordinator, EIIC
Who can join EIIC?
Every student at JIT — any branch, any year. You don't need a startup idea to join, just curiosity and the willingness to show up.
Do I need a team to participate in events?
No. Most of our events allow solo registrations and we run team-formation mixers before every hackathon and ideathon.
How does incubation work?
Apply through the Incubation form any time. Shortlisted teams get a 6-month programme with mentors, workspace, legal help and access to seed grants.
How do I verify a certificate?
Go to the Certificates page and enter the certificate ID printed on it, or scan its QR code. You'll see the recipient, event and date if it's genuine.
How are core team members selected?
Recruitment opens every August. It's a short form followed by a task and a friendly interview with the department heads.
